I can't find my dog's breed

Can't find your dog's breed on our list?

On our quote page, you will be asked to enter your dog's breed. It is important to make sure you enter the correct breed, as this is a factor that affects the pricing of your pet insurance policy.

We've written an article on the difference between pedigree, crossbreed and mixed breed, which you may find useful.

If your dog is a crossbreed that isn't on our list, it may have another name - you could try searching online for an alternative breed name and use that instead. For example, if you have a variety of crossbreed pug, we’ve listed some of the varieties here.

If you're unable to find an alternative name for your crossbreed, you can still select 'Cross Breed', then enter the breed that is most dominant in your dog. If you're not sure which is the most dominant, you can check this with your vet.

Not sure what your dog's breed is?

If your dog is a rescue, there's a chance that you may not know what your dog's breed is.

If this is the case, please contact the rescue centre or your vet, as they may be able to help you identify your dog's breed.

If it's still a mystery, your dog may be a mixed breed, so you can select 'mixed breed' and click on the relevant size (small is under 10kg, medium is 10-20kg, and large is 20kg and above). If you have cover with us and find out later that your dog is a particular breed or crossbreed, please contact us as soon as possible so that we can adjust your policy accordingly.
