We want to make better insurance for everyone. That's why we've created a new approach to pre-existing conditions for our pet insurance policies.
If you're looking to find cover for an illness or injury that has required treatment, medication or advice from the vet in the last 2 years, we may be able to help.
We've outlined some basic information below.
How much am I covered for on the Pre-Existing policy?
On our Pre-Existing policy, you can claim up to £500 in total across pre-existing conditions in the first year.
If you haven't claimed for anything pre-existing in the first year, the amount of cover will increase to £1000 in the second year.
If no claims have been made for pre-existing conditions after the first two years, the conditions can be approached as new conditions, so the normal limit of £7000 of lifetime cover can be applied.
Are there any pre-existing conditions that are not covered on this policy?
- We cannot cover any illness or accident that has been diagnosed or that first occurred in the last 3 months before the policy start date.
- We cannot cover anything your pet is currently having treatment for, or anything they have had treatment or advice for in the last 3 months.
- This includes any medications that your pet may be receiving.
These conditions cannot be covered as pre-existing conditions.
